@DGneoseeker1 I'm a gamer myself, and I enjoy the UFC, Strikeforce, NFL and other contact sports. And I'm a movie buff, specially for Zombie/Horror flicks. But either way, according to what I believe, my energy will be recycled once I'm finished with this body, so, no loss for me :P

@Dechampu Well, here's the thing. I don't enjoy violence, per se... But think of how much of the entertainment industry depends on it.Most video games are about either war or fighting monsters, etc. A lot of films are action movies/horror movies, etc.If neither of these things existed, I would be bored out of my mind.Heaven without these things would be like sitting around in a drunken stupor with nothing to do.

@DGneoseeker1 peaceful doesn't mean boring or uneventful. It means there's no war, hate, crimes, etc.I don't know about you, but if we could have this things over here, This'd be a place I'd like to live in, won't you?
DGneoseeker1 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@Dechampu Does it though?I mean, I've heard a lot of people saying they wouldn't want to be immortal (in this world) because they thought they'd eventually have done everything and ended up infinitely bored. Wouldn't a peaceful paradise be even worse in this respect?
Dechampu (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@DGneoseeker1 well, I guess the view on afterlife is pretty much subjective to each one, 'cause there's not two people who think exatly alike. Besides, I pointed out that most religions' take on the afterlife is what I described, not my own.And eternal peace sounds like a good change of pace from the chaos spread in this side of the multiverse :P

@Dechampu As I see it, if an afterlife existed, it would be much the same as this world. You can't have a paradise without human faults messing everything up unless you actually change everyone's personalities. Doing so would essentially destroy who you are.And wouldn't eternal peace with no wants or cares be incredibly boring?
Dechampu (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@williamsjenson Pretty insightful. I like your POV
Dechampu (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
@DGneoseeker1 actually, afterlife as depicted by almost every religion is supposed to be a blissful place, where no pain, anger, hate and all those bad things we have here on earth exist. Living forever here, means to put up with all the suffering that this world brings.See the difference? Anyway, I wouldn't want to live forever in a world with all this suffering and hate humankind has for itself
DGneoseeker1 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I fail to see why not dying would be a bad thing. The whole idea of an afterlife is effectively the same as living forever. Thus living forever is essentially the same as being in heaven, only not so great. Also if you live forever you're not in hell.
